  • lower back pain and left calf muscle pain.. need help??

i am at 24 and i have been suffering from Lower Back Pain for the past 5 years. When ever i visit a doctor, they just asks me to get the X-Rays and by checking it they are saying there is no problem at all. and they ask me to do some exercises.

last week i consulted a doctor. even he repeated the same. he adviced me to do some back exercises and he told me that reason for pain is my spinal cord is a bit straight rather tha a curved shape..... i started doing the exercises..... strangely now i am suffering from calf muscle pain that to only in my left leg.......

i just want to know whether these two pains are interrellated or different.. some one told me that if the back pain is severe it will slowly spread to your legs and become more severe that may leed to surgery.........

please help me to come out of this problem........ do i need to undergo any surgery........ doctor said no problem is observed in your X-Rays.......

Before anyone on this site starts suggesting remedies for you, my view is that if you are genuinely suffering from troublesome or debilitating back pain (and not just the odd twinge or ache) of no obvious cause since the age of 19, then you should probably be investigated further to establish some kind of diagnosis or at least rule out certain diseases. X-Rays are not sufficient, and blood tests and an MRI or CT scan would be normal investigations here for persistent back pain in a young person. Your calf muscle pain could be from your new exercises and surgery is always a last resort.

MRI deffinitely. It is non-invasive, non-iradiating, very accurate in diagnosing soft tissue problems (muscle, ligaments, discs) which can be totally inapparent to X-rays, the single problem is that it is expensive (but most contries have insurance policies covering investigation for such a longstanding case, especially). It it excludes any sign of lesion, a pure functional syndrom benefits not only of homeopathy but also acupuncture and a good physiotherapist can work wonders.

        some more details

i suffer from the pain daily in the morning when i wake up and it will be severe if i play a game, run, lift weights etc.. MRI is a bit expensive. but i suggested my doctor for an MRI. but he said it is not at all required.......... last time when i met him.. he asked me to lay down on a bed and keep my two legs together and slowly raise them upto 45 degrees... then my legs started shaking...after few seconds entire body started shaking (but my friends are able to do this easily)... and then he said.. this is the problem.. you dont have proper strength(weak spinal cord) and asked me to do some excerices.......

            more info

I got this calf muscle pain, when i started doing excercises (my doctor suggested me some back excercises). i suffered for around 7 days with this pain. and now i am not doing any excercises so no prob. i used "EvionLC" capsules for this pain.

pain is at the end of the spine. pain is just like pulling and causing lower back pain.

now i am at 24 and i have been suffering from the past 5 to 6 years. no accidents or major hospitalization (so problem is not bcoz of these). usually i get this pain when i wake up in the morning. and it continues for 15 to 30 minutes. usually i sleep on a mat and without a pillow. i never sleep on bed, if i do so, the pain will be more on the next morning. usually i sleep on flat surfaces. i get pain if i lift things, run and play games or sit for long hours. the X-Rays saying there is no problem. doctor adviced me to do some back excercises for some period of time.

last year i completed my PG i have been working for the past 9 months. i have to sit 8 hours before a computer.............

if some more info is required i can provide..... but i just want to come out of this as soon as possible.
The doctor is a specialist he is an MD (Ortho)

            Thanks
            Hari

              Re

Calf muscles are located at the back of lower leg. Calf muscle pain is generally associated with the short time and is curable. It is generally self induced and is caused due to too much of exercise or lack of following of proper methodology in exercise especially related to stretching. It can also lead to causing of cramps which is again caused due to improper way of stretching related in exercise.

                Robinn,

Are you sure of the cause? A better question: What difference does it make? what importance attributes to discerning the cause? I am all ears, sir chiropractor.
