    • And all correctly designed trials have ended with negative results.

But you already knew that, because you have been told a dozen times.

Dear Albert, let me express myself in the language you seem to prefer: Within the forum rules, I will do as I bloody well please.

                      • That's the abstract. How am I supposed to evaluate the article, if I can't read it?

                          First problem, of course:

                          1) This is a specialized homeopathic publication. I'm sorry, but whether true or not, that will be perceived as biased. The obvious question is: Why are homeopathic trials almost never published in recognized medical journals, if only to overcome this reservation?

                          2) The test group is rather small.

                          3) This is a test for pain relief, which is a little unfortunate, because pain is notoriously difficult to evaluate, being very subjective. Thus, pain relief medicine is extremely susceptible to placebo effect. So especially in this kind of test, the test group is of inadequate size.

                          4) The results for both the homeopathic remedy and the conventional medicine used as control are very poor. One may suspect that none of them have any effect at all.

Finally, of course, while this part of the protocol will not bother 'allopaths', homeopaths ought to react to the fact that the homeoapthc prescription does not seem to be individualized.

Why is it that when a, non-individualized, double blind test does not show an effect for homeopathy, homeopaths reject it as not being valid, but when it does seem to show an effect, it is suddenly evidence for homeopathy?

                          Hans
